PARTNERING WITH CHURCHES TO RAISE UP FUTURE CHRISTIAN LEADERS
Where Education and Faith Work Together
We believe education is an act of worship that glorifies God. When churches partner with Classical Conversations, together we
- Strengthen Christian families in your congregation and community;
- Utilize your church facilities during weekday hours it may otherwise sit empty;
- Equip parents to disciple their children through Christ-centered education; and
- Build the next generation of faithful Christian leaders.
Why Churches Host Classical Conversations Communities
Classical Conversations provides a complete classical, Christian education model that aligns perfectly with your church's mission. By hosting a CC community, your church becomes a beacon for families seeking Christ-centered education options.
Our communities meet just once per week, making efficient use of your church's space while bringing new families through your doors. Many of our host churches report that homeschool families often become church members, strengthening your congregation.

“Having experienced Classical Conversations from at least three angles—husband to a Director, dad to students, and pastor of a host facility—I’d gladly encourage other husbands, dads, and pastors to embrace and support a community in their area.” Greg Savage, Pastor
“Classical Conversations is the best available option for providing our children with a classical, Christian education, and a tool to train our children to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.” Shawn Vitu, Pastor
“We have been greatly blessed by the presence of your families in our building over the past several months.” Chris Schaefer, Minister
During the academic year, families gather for homeschool community once per week for 24–32 weeks. Communities vary in size and space needs, but they generally need 6–10 small group spaces and one large group space for 4–8 hours during non-worship times.
Learn about Community DayChurches can also choose to partner with Classical Conversations for smaller time commitments, such as hosting official CC events like Parent Practicum.
First, churches can promote homeschooling. It is important to recognize that God gave parents, not the government or even the church, the primary responsibility of raising and educating their children. Homeschooling allows parents to disciple their children and teach them from a biblical worldview.
Second, churches can promote homeschooling in community. We believe that community provides support, accountability, and equipping for families. As you encounter families needing homeschool community, please recommend Classical Conversations.
Often, a local community leader serves as a liaison between the church and the CC community. Our leaders desire to maintain a positive church/community relationship. Working closely with church leadership to understand church policies and usage, the liaison then communicates these expectations to the community members. We like to say we leave facilities in better condition than we found them, as we value the blessing of our partnering facility! Additionally, each local community maintains general liability and accident medical insurance coverage to protect participants and facilities.
- Provide your congregational families with a Christ-centered education option.
- Connect local families to your church.
- Utilize your facility to its fullest potential.
- Offset operational costs.*
- Complete service projects in partnership with local community members.
*CC communities can charge families facility fees to bless the host church financially.
We regularly consult with our legal and tax advisors to ensure we are acting with integrity and in compliance. As Proverbs 15:22 states, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed” (NIV).
Many tax assessors have determined that families who wish to use church facilities as meeting spaces are able to do so, as our faith-based curriculum helps to further the primary and principal use of each church property: religious worship. The mission of every Classical Conversations homeschool community is to foster Christian-based education, which in turn promotes the beliefs and objectives of the church. Furthermore, Classical Conversations supports religious instruction by providing a curriculum and pedagogy grounded in a Christ-centered worldview. Therefore, by using the church property, Classical Conversations homeschool communities are able to exercise the primary use of each church property.
Although it varies from state to state, state statutes and court cases have generally provided that the occasional or incidental use of church property by members of the general public shall not compromise the real property tax exemption afforded to those churches. The occasional use of church property by each Classical Conversations homeschool community (4–8 hours per week) is incidental to the primary and principal use of the church property.
Furthermore, the mission of Classical Conversations and each homeschool community is to continue to foster and further Christ-centered education, which in turn demonstrates and promotes the beliefs and objectives of the church. Therefore, by using the church property, Classical Conversations homeschool communities are able to exercise the primary and principal use of each church property. For example, certain county assessors have specifically determined that the Christian-based education offered through homeschool communities using the Classical Conversations curriculum constitutes worship, which supports the religious purpose associated with the use of church property.
